Find the cruise exit—not ferry Terminal A or D
Cruise reference: the Port of Tallinn gives the Cruise Terminal address as Logi 4/2. Terminals A and D handle ferry passengers and are different starting points.
- Follow the ship and terminal signs through the controlled cruise area to the public exit.
- Save “Cruise Terminal, Logi 4/2” for your return.
- Use the port’s mapped promenade/terminal route; the two nearest tram stops, Vanasadam and Linnahall, are each listed as about 500 m from the terminal.
The port’s 850 m seafront promenade is useful public space, but it is not a shortcut through an active security boundary. Same-day port or cruise-line directions take priority.
Getting There
Cruise terminal to Old Town
Walk
From the public cruise exit, follow the signed pedestrian route toward Fat Margaret / Pikk Street, the practical Old Town gateway. Visit Tallinn gives 15–20 minutes from passenger/cruise terminals; allow roughly 1–1.5 km depending on the actual ship exit. The harbour approach is broadly level; inside the medieval Old Town expect cobbles, kerbs and uphill streets.
Taxi or app ride
Use the signed cruise pickup or the pin assigned by the app. Visit Tallinn’s current centre estimate is about €7–10; treat it as a dated planning range, not a fixed fare. Confirm the meter or app quote before departure. Bolt and Uber operate in Tallinn, but the assigned pickup—not a ferry-terminal pin—controls.
Tram
For destinations beyond the walkable Old Town, walk about 500 m to Vanasadam or Linnahall and use the official planner. Tram T2 serves Vanasadam and the centre. For the Old Town itself, walking is usually simpler than paying and waiting for this short leg.

Your Situation
Airport transfers
Airport → cruise terminal
- At the airport, take the escalator or lift and walkway to the public-transport centre at the city end of the terminal.
- Board T2 toward Kopli via Old City Harbour; buy before boarding or tap correctly as described below.
- Alight at Vanasadam (or Linnahall if the live planner selects it), then follow the port’s route about 500 m to Logi 4/2 and the controlled cruise entrance.
Planning time: allow about 30–45 minutes total for the direct ride, normal waiting and the mapped terminal walk. This is a planning range, not a guaranteed timetable.
Ending your cruise: port → airport
- From the public cruise exit at Logi 4/2, follow the port route about 500 m to Vanasadam; use Linnahall only if the live planner selects it.
- Board tram T2 toward Lennujaam (Airport).
- Alight at the final Lennujaam stop and follow the covered walkway into the passenger terminal.
Use the official planner for the actual departure and allow a separate flight check-in/security margin.
Taxi/app: least handling
Use the official taxi rank outside Arrivals or an app’s assigned airport pickup, and enter Logi 4/2. In the outbound direction, use the signed cruise pickup. No reliable official fixed airport–cruise fare was found; the meter or live app quote controls.

- No cash ticket from the driver. Each passenger must hold a valid ticket from the start of the ride.
Port Day
Short visit and return to ship
- Photograph the ship name, all-aboard time and Logi 4/2 before leaving.
- For a short visit, walk to Fat Margaret and enter Old Town through Pikk Street; choose a turnaround point rather than wandering progressively uphill.
- Reverse the route to the signed cruise entrance—not Terminal A or D. If using T2, alight at Vanasadam/Linnahall as directed live, then allow the 500 m walk plus security.
- Subtract the entire return walk/ride, likely waiting, security and your own buffer from the cruise line’s all-aboard time.
On busy ship days, taxi/app pickup pins and controlled gates may move. Recheck before starting back.
Accessibility
Luggage and mobility
- With two suitcases, a taxi/app ride removes the cobbled Old Town walk and the 500 m tram-to-terminal segment.
- The airport public-transport centre has an escalator or lift and a covered walkway, but this does not certify the complete ship-to-tram path.
- The harbour-to-Old-Town approach is mostly level; medieval paving and uphill lanes are the difficult portion.
- Ask the cruise line about gangway assistance and any call-specific shuttle. None is assumed.
What to Confirm
What to recheck
- The ship-to-public-exit distance can change with the assigned berth.
- The 15–20 minute Old Town walk and €7–10 centre taxi are official tourism planning figures, not guarantees from every gangway.
- The airport total is a planning range; confirm the live T2 departure and stop.
- No official fixed airport taxi fare was published. Use the meter or app quote.
