Cruise Port Logistics Guide
Piraeus Cruise Port
Gateway for Athens, Greece
Piraeus has three cruise passenger terminals. Terminal A/Miaoulis uses Gate E11. Terminals B/Themistocles and C/Alkimos use Gate E12. Your best transport choice changes substantially depending on which terminal your ship uses.
Start with your terminal, not with Athens
Piraeus has three cruise passenger terminals. Terminal A/Miaoulis uses Gate E11. Terminals B/Themistocles and C/Alkimos use Gate E12. Your best transport choice changes substantially depending on which terminal your ship uses.
Key Decision
Terminal A is the easier public-transit terminal
If you are at Terminal A/E11, walking to or from Piraeus transit is the more realistic option. B/C at E12 are materially farther from the main transit area, so the same advice should not be copied across all three terminals.
Getting There
The X80 is built for cruise passengers
The seasonal X80 express links the Piraeus cruise area directly with the Acropolis and Syntagma. In 2026 OASA says it serves both cruise-terminal exits and operates from May to October, with exact seasonal dates announced by OASA.
Getting There
Do not confuse the free port shuttle with a city bus
Piraeus Port Authority provides free transport between anchoring/ship areas and passenger terminals. This solves some inside-the-port distance, but it is not a substitute for your onward transport to Athens or the airport.
Your Situation
Athens Airport to Piraeus: the last mile still matters
Airport public transport reaches Piraeus, including the X96 airport express and rail/Metro options. Reaching Piraeus is not the same as reaching your cruise-terminal door, especially for B/C at E12.
Accessibility
Accessible terminal does not mean an accessible journey
Available evidence supports accessible features at the cruise terminals and public transport, but we could not verify a continuous step-free route between Metro/transit and the cruise-terminal doors. Sidewalk continuity, curb cuts and crossings remain unverified at route level.
What to Confirm
What we could not verify
We could not verify continuous sidewalks, exact curb cuts, crossing geometry, walking surfaces, gradients, or the precise day-specific X80 boarding micro-location at E11/E12.
