Confirm Revierkaia or Filipstad

The Port of Oslo lists two active cruise locations: Revierkaia, the main cruise quay beside Vippetangen/Bjørvika, and Filipstad, west of Aker Brygge. The 2026 port booking list abbreviates them REV and FIL.

  1. Match your ship/date on the cruise list or cruise-line notice.
  2. Follow the controlled route to the public exit; central quays close to the public while a ship is alongside.
  3. Save the exact quay name offline. “Oslo cruise port” is not specific enough for the return.

Getting There

City routes from each quay

Revierkaia / Vippetangen

Walk: from the public exit, follow the waterfront north toward Bjørvika. Plan roughly 0.8 km/10 min to the Opera or 1.1 km/15 min to Oslo S; these are mapped estimates and the secure-exit segment varies. A taxi/app ride is sensible with heavy luggage; use Revierkaia as the pickup, not Filipstad.

Filipstad

Walk: follow the harbour promenade east toward Tjuvholmen and Aker Brygge, roughly 0.8–1.0 km/10–15 min. Nationaltheatret station is about 1.5 km/18–22 min from the quay area. Use a taxi/app for luggage or limited mobility; no static port-city fare is claimed.

Local transit

Central Oslo is zone 1. An adult single is 46 NOK and normally valid 60 minutes. Buy in the Ruter app or at an approved sales point before tram/metro/train boarding; on-board bus/boat purchase costs more.

Your Situation

Oslo Airport transfers

Vy via Oslo S: lower fare

Take a Vy regional train between Oslo Airport and Oslo S. The adult four-zone Ruter/Vy single was 134 NOK on 8 September 2026. A typical direct Oslo S rail leg is about 23 minutes; the chosen Ruter/Vy itinerary controls.

Flytoget

Flytoget’s published 19-minute figure is specifically its fastest Oslo S–Oslo Airport service. The adult fare is 268 NOK from either Oslo S or Nationaltheatret. Nationaltheatret trains must be signed for Oslo Airport in the outbound direction, or for Drammen/Stabekk when arriving from the airport; their exact rail time and less-frequent departure pattern must be read from the live planner—do not reuse the 19-minute Oslo S figure.

What the total includes

Revierkaia via Oslo S: plan about 40–50 minutes with Flytoget or 45–55 minutes with Vy. Those ranges include the mapped 15-minute quay walk, a few minutes inside the station, up to about 10 minutes scheduled waiting at Oslo S and the 19- or approximately 23-minute rail leg. They exclude disruption, road traffic if you replace the walk with a taxi, airport security and your flight check-in margin.

Filipstad: a short taxi to Oslo S plus airport rail is usually about 40–55 minutes, including 5–15 minutes planned for the road/station transfer, up to about 10 minutes scheduled waiting and the 19–23 minute rail leg; road congestion is extra. If walking about 1.5 km/18–22 minutes to Nationaltheatret instead, use Flytoget’s live result for both its scheduled wait and rail time.

Ending your cruise: quay → airport

  1. From Revierkaia, walk about 1.1 km/15 min or take a taxi to Oslo S. From Filipstad, take a short taxi to Oslo S, or walk about 1.5 km/18–22 min to Nationaltheatret.
  2. At Oslo S, board a Vy train whose display includes Oslo lufthavn, or any Flytoget airport train. At Nationaltheatret, board only a Flytoget service shown for Oslo Airport.
  3. Alight at Oslo lufthavn stasjon and follow terminal signs upstairs.

Pay for Vy/Ruter in the Ruter or Vy app or at a valid machine/sales point. For Flytoget, buy in its app/machine or tap a payment card at the station gates where offered.

Tickets, taxis and luggage choices

  • Ruter zone 1: 46 NOK adult single; buy before tram, metro or train boarding.
  • Airport by Vy: select Oslo Airport and the correct Oslo station; the four-zone adult single was 134 NOK.
  • Flytoget: 268 NOK adult to Oslo S/Nationaltheatret; separate ticketing.
  • Taxi/app: use the exact quay and assigned pickup. Oslo taxis are metered/company-priced; request a fixed estimate or check the app quote. No unsupported static airport fare is published here.
  • Two suitcases: rail plus a short taxi is often a better balance than the full station walk.

Port Day

Short visit and return

  1. Confirm REV or FIL and save the public-exit location.
  2. From REV, use Bjørvika/Opera as the first city anchor. From FIL, use Aker Brygge/Tjuvholmen.
  3. For the return, reverse the same waterfront route or set the taxi/app destination to the exact quay name.
  4. Allow for walking, a live transit wait if used, the restricted cruise perimeter, security and the cruise line’s all-aboard deadline.

Do not walk to the other quay because it appears in a generic port map; they are on opposite sides of central Oslo.

Accessibility

Mobility and step-free planning

  • The city-centre location does not prove a step-free gangway-to-station route.
  • Revierkaia and Filipstad become restricted cruise areas while ships are alongside; follow staff directions to the public exit.
  • Waterfront routes are generally flatter than inland alternatives, but works, kerbs, winter conditions and the secure-exit path vary.
  • Prebook an accessible taxi and describe the mobility aid. Request cruise-line gangway help separately.

What to Confirm

What to recheck

  • Quay assignment and controlled walking exit for the sailing.
  • Live airport-rail departure, disruptions and fare before purchase.
  • Mapped walk distances begin at the quay/public-exit area, not the cabin or gangway.
  • No authoritative fixed taxi fare was found; company/app quotes control.
